"When everyone is included, everyone wins." - Jesse Jackson
We believe that every human being should be able to participate in the incredible universal society of the Internet, so we have designed this website for anyone and everyone to enjoy, however they choose to access and use it.
In planning, designing and building this website, we have considered the needs of people with a wide range of abilities and from a variety of cultural and socio-economic backgrounds.
We have given particular consideration to people with impairments which impact on the way they use the Internet, whether that be through the use of specialised or assistive technologies or through adjustments made to mainstream technologies.
Although our website is easy to use, we have included some information to ensure that everyone gets the most out of the experience.
This website operates on a wide range of browsers and operating systems and has been tested specifically against:
The Copious Accessibility Widget can be found at the top right corner of each page. The widget can be used to enlarge or reduce text and to change the colour scheme.
As this is a new feature that we are planning to develop further, any suggestions for improvement would be gratefully accepted. Please email widget@copious.co.uk.
Javascript is only used on this site in a way that is gracefully degradable and only to enhance usability. For users that have Javascript disabled, there will be no loss of key functionality or content.
This website has been built in line with the WCAG 2.0 and aims to achieve Priority 3 / Triple A. As the WCAG are guidelines and are not absolutely prescriptive, there is always the element of human interpretation, as well as the way that different browsers, technologies and devices may interpret and display our website. As such, we are always learning, evolving and improving and this website will reflect this over time.
As we look at Accessibility as a living, breathing thing and not as simply adhering to Web Standards or Guidelines, we have designed, built and tested this website to go beyond existing compliance where we felt that there was a requirement.
We have created buttons where the text contained within them enlarges and reduces when users choose to enlarge or reduce text.
We have used CSS3 to enhance certain visual aspects of the website. However, if your browser does not support CSS3, we have made sure that your experience of our website will remain a great one.
Creating an accessible website is an iterative process and the true test of a website's accessibility is in having people use it. So, if you have any feedback about the accessibility of our website, we would love to hear from you. Please email: engage@copious.co.uk.
